This 25 Baisa coin is an issue of the Sultanate of Muscat and Oman from 1390 AH, corresponding to 1970 AD, dating back to the reign of Sultan Said bin Taimur.
The obverse of the coin bears the state emblem, featuring the Omani Khanjar within a belt, along with the inscription of the Sultan's name, 'Said bin Taimur, Sultan of Muscat and Oman,' while the reverse displays the denomination '25 Baisa' in Arabic alongside the Hijri date.
This piece holds special historical significance as it was issued in the final year of Sultan Said bin Taimur's reign, a year that also witnessed the separation of Muscat and Oman from this title, marking the beginning of an entirely new era in the history of the Sultanate.
