5 Euro silver commemorative coin issued by the Royal Dutch Mint (Koninklijke Nederlandse Munt) in 2007, marking the 400th anniversary of the birth of the Dutch naval commander Michiel de Ruyter (1607–2007).
The obverse features a modern artistic design with a partial portrait of Queen Beatrix centered within a circular field, surrounded by a radiant pattern, along with the inscriptions “ONZE / HUN” and the denomination “EURO 5,” a distinctive style of modern Dutch coinage.
The reverse depicts a portrait of Michiel de Ruyter alongside his name, honoring his role as one of the greatest admirals of the Dutch fleet in the 17th century and a key figure of the Dutch Golden Age.
