$100 banknote from the Traders Bank of the City of Richmond, Virginia, dated in the 1860s. The note features intricate engravings produced by the American Bank Note Company, including a central portrait of a young girl flanked by allegorical figures: a standing female figure representing Minerva at the left and a seated grouping that includes Benjamin Franklin at the right. Originally chartered in early 1860, this institution issued "obsolete currency" before the federal government standardized paper money.
